Ingredients
- Mezcal0.75 oz
- Fresh Lime Juice0.5 oz
- Grapefruit Soda5 oz
- Kosher Salt1 rim
- Lime Wedge1 piece
Method
- Salt rim of highball glass
- Fill with ice
- Add mezcal and lime juice
- Top with grapefruit soda
- Stir briefly
- Garnish with lime wedge
Pro Tips
- A young mezcal joven for brightness; aged mezcal fights the grapefruit.
- Topo Chico or a French mineral water sparkler — not tonic; you don't want the quinine here.
- Salt the rim only HALFway around — lets the drinker choose to sip with or without.
