Ingredients
- Gin1.5 oz
- Cherry Heering0.5 oz
- Bénédictine0.25 oz
- Cointreau0.25 oz
- Pineapple Juice4 oz
- Fresh Lime Juice0.5 oz
- Grenadine0.25 oz
- Angostura Bitters1 dash
- Soda Water1 oz
- Pineapple Wedge1 piece
- Maraschino Cherry1 piece
Method
- Add all ingredients except soda to shaker with ice
- Shake hard
- Strain into hurricane glass filled with crushed ice
- Top with soda water
- Garnish with pineapple wedge and cherry
Pro Tips
- Raffles' original used a specific cherry brandy (Cherry Heering) — modern versions substitute badly.
- Pineapple juice should be fresh-juiced and strained — canned is sweet-sludge.
- A proper Sling is long and fruit-topped; keep it light on the rum and heavy on the citrus.
