- Salted Caramel Syrup0.5 oz
- Vanilla Bitters2 dashes
- Flaky Sea Salt1 pinch
- Orange Peel1 flamed
Method
- Add bourbon, salted caramel syrup, and bitters to mixing glass with ice
- Stir until well chilled
- Strain into rocks glass over large cube
- Flame orange peel and drop in
- Finish with a small pinch of flaky sea salt
Pro Tips
- Make caramel syrup at home — melt sugar to amber, add cream and butter off heat, a pinch of salt. Bottled versions taste chemical.
- A flamed orange peel contributes bitter oil that cuts the caramel sweetness.
- Finish with Maldon flakes, not table salt — you want visible crystals melting on top.
