Ingredients

  • Vodka1.5 oz
  • Junmai Sake1.5 oz
  • Cucumber Ribbon1 piece

Method

  1. Add vodka and sake to mixing glass with ice
  2. Stir 30 seconds until very cold
  3. Strain into chilled coupe
  4. Garnish with long cucumber ribbon curled in the glass

Pro Tips

  • Use junmai, not honjozo — brewer's alcohol additions read badly when you cut it with vodka.
  • Stir, don't shake — shaking a sake-based drink bruises the rice-wine flavor.
  • A long cucumber ribbon (peeler down a whole cucumber) curled around the glass is the signature touch.
