Ingredients

  • Bourbon Whiskey6 oz
  • Dark Rum2 oz
  • Whole Milk6 oz
  • Heavy Cream2 oz
  • Powdered Sugar3 tbsp
  • Vanilla Extract0.5 tsp
  • Freshly Grated Nutmeg1 tsp

Method

  1. Combine bourbon, rum, milk, cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla in blender or shaker
  2. Shake hard with ice (or pulse in blender)
  3. Strain into chilled coupes or pour over ice from carafe
  4. Dust each with fresh-grated nutmeg; yields 4 servings

Pro Tips

  • Shake HARD with ice — the emulsion is what makes it creamy rather than separated.
  • Brennan's secret: a drop of orange flower water. Transformative.
  • Make ahead and chill overnight — the alcohol smooths out dramatically in 12 hours.
