From Modern American Drinks by George J. Kappeler (1900). Original recipe: "Dissolve a small lump of sugar with a little water in a whiskey-glass, add one lump of ice, one dash lemon-juice, two dashes Peyschaud bitters, one jigger Tom gin. Mix with small bar-spoon. Serve."

Ingredients
- Peychaud's Bitters2 dashes
- Old Tom Gin2 oz
Method
- Add peychaud's bitters and old tom gin to mixing glass with ice
- Stir until well chilled
- Strain into chilled rocks glass
