From Modern American Drinks by George J. Kappeler (1900). Original recipe: "A mixing-glass half-full fine ice; add three dashes absinthe, three dashes pepsin bitters, one jigger French vermouth. Shake well, strain, and serve."

Ingredients
- Absinthe3 dashes
- pepsin bitters3 dashes
- Dry Vermouth2 oz
Method
- Add absinthe, pepsin bitters, and dry vermouth to mixing glass with ice
- Stir until well chilled
- Strain into chilled rocks glass
