From Modern American Drinks by George J. Kappeler (1900). Original recipe: "Half a mixing-glass full fine ice, one tablespoonful fine sugar, one and a half jigger sherry wine. Shake well. Serve in a long thin glass with straws. Trim with fruit."

Ingredients
- Sugar0.5 tbsp
- sherry wine1 oz
Method
- Add sugar and sherry wine to mixing glass with ice
- Stir until well chilled
- Strain into chilled rocks glass
