From Modern American Drinks by George J. Kappeler (1900). Original recipe: "One teaspoonful fine sugar in a long fizz-glass; add three dashes lemon-juice, one and a half jigger sauterne. Mix well and fill the glass with seltzer."

Method
- Add fine sugar in a long fizz-glass, lemon-juice, and sauterne to mixing glass with ice
- Stir until well chilled
- Strain into chilled rocks glass
