Ingredients

  • Dry Red Wine1 bottle
  • Brandy3 oz
  • Orange Liqueur2 oz
  • Fresh Orange Juice4 oz
  • Sparkling Water6 oz
  • Sugar3 tbsp
  • Orange Slices1 whole
  • Apple Slices1 whole
  • Lemon Slices1 whole

Method

  1. Slice apples, oranges, and lemons into pitcher
  2. Pour wine, brandy, and orange liqueur over fruit, add sugar
  3. Refrigerate minimum 4 hours (ideally overnight)
  4. At service, top with orange juice and sparkling water
  5. Pour over ice in wine glasses; yields 6–8 servings

Pro Tips

  • A Tempranillo or Garnacha is traditional; Malbec also works. Avoid Cabernet — too tannic after soaking fruit.
  • Slice fruit thinly so it actually flavors the wine — big chunks just sit there.
  • The sparkling water goes in LAST, at service, or your sangria goes flat.
