Raki Reflection

Multiple · Tall tumbler

Turkey's grape-anise distillate served in the traditional 'lion's milk' style — raki and ice water in a tall glass, with meze nearby. Simple, devastating, honest.

Ingredients

  • Raki2 oz
  • Ice-Cold Water4 oz
  • Single Ice Cube1 piece

Method

  1. Pour raki into tall tumbler
  2. Slowly add ice-cold water (1:1 or 2:1 water to raki) until milky
  3. Add a single ice cube
  4. Serve neat alongside a small plate of white cheese and melon

Pro Tips

  • In Turkey, the glass is NEVER clinked at the rim — only at the base. Protocol matters.
  • Raki is always sipped, never shot, and always with food — traditionally meze and white cheese.
  • If the bottle label says 'Yeni Raki,' you have the good stuff.
