Ingredients

  • Calvados1.5 oz
  • Hard Apple Cider5 oz
  • Brown-Sugar Butter1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon Stick1 piece
  • Allspice Berries2 pieces
  • Apple Slice1 piece

Method

  1. Gently warm cider with cinnamon stick and allspice (do not boil)
  2. Ladle into mug
  3. Add Calvados and brown-sugar butter, stir to melt
  4. Garnish with apple slice and dust with cinnamon

Pro Tips

  • Heat the cider gently (170°F max) — boiling it releases pectin and makes the drink cloudy-thick.
  • Calvados needs age to shine here; avoid the cheap younger bottles.
  • Skip the butter if you're serving someone dairy-free — replace with a teaspoon of maple syrup for mouthfeel.
