Bowle
Wine · Glass punch bowl
A German summer-garden tradition — crisp white wine or Sekt poured over macerated summer strawberries or peaches with a splash of cognac. Served in a glass bowl so the fruit is visible.

Ingredients
- Dry German Riesling1 bottle
- Sekt1 bottle
- Cognac3 oz
- Fresh Strawberries (halved)2 cups
- Sugar3 tbsp
- Mint Sprigs1 bunch
- Large Ice Block1 piece
Method
- Macerate fruit with sugar and cognac 2+ hours
- Transfer fruit and juices to large glass bowl
- Pour cold white wine over
- Add ice block and top with Sekt
- Ladle fruit into each wine glass; yields 8 servings
Pro Tips
- Strawberries should macerate with sugar for at least 2 hours — this draws out their juice into syrup.
- Use a dry Riesling or Grüner Veltliner; Chardonnay is too heavy.
- Add the Sekt only when guests arrive — flat Bowle is sad.
